Canine Enrichment in Mesa and Chandler

Interactive games, agility equipment and small-group sessions that build confidence, focus and good manners.

What Is Canine Enrichment?

Our Enrichment Center offers fun activities that instill positive behaviors, confidence and good manners through focused training using basic commands to help your pup learn.

We set up a cool obstacle course using wobble boards and inflatable balance peanuts which build confidence and trust on unfamiliar surfaces. There are interactive games that reward focus and obedience.

Canine enrichment includes fun agility equipment, nose work, puzzles, training games, doggy treadmill (Chandler location only), positive rewards, and more.

Small Groups That Work All Five Senses

Our canine enrichment and activities works the five senses (touch, smell, taste, hearing, and sight) while providing stimulating workouts both mentally and physically.

We use small groups (3-5 pups) in canine enrichment sessions to help puppies learn manners around other dogs and to learn how to wait their turn.

One-on-One Enrichment Sessions

Exclusive 1-on-1 canine enrichment training sessions are available upon request for an extra cost of $15 for 7-min.

  • Interactive games
  • Fun agility equipment
  • Mental and physical workouts
  • Puppies up to 6-months old really benefit from adding on training workouts to practice their routine commands in a busier environment. Repetition is key. We provide two smaller sessions during daycare working with other pups to help your puppy learn manners in a small group setting. The cost is $30 for two 10-minute small group sessions.
  • Dogs of all ages can enjoy Enrichment Activities or Training Sessions, but puppies really benefit from the extra focused direction and basic commands.

How Enrichment Works Alongside Daycare

Enrichment is not a separate appointment. It happens inside the day your dog is already here for, whether that is daycare or an overnight stay.

A session runs in a small group of three to five dogs, small enough that every dog gets turns instead of waiting out the clock. The group works through an obstacle course set up with wobble boards and inflatable balance peanuts, then into nose work, puzzles or training games that reward focus. Staff use basic commands throughout, so your dog is practising the same words you use at home, just in a busier room. The Chandler location also has a doggy treadmill.

For daycare dogs, when time allows, we include one small-group session for any dog dropped off by 9AM Monday through Friday. Beyond that, two 10-minute small group sessions are $30 and one-on-one canine enrichment is $15 for seven minutes. Dog enrichment activities and dog agility daycare run at both locations, so canine enrichment in Mesa AZ and in Chandler look the same.

Dogs who benefit:

  • Puppies who will learn to read social cues from other dogs in a clean, fun and safe environment.
  • Highly intelligent dogs who become bored quickly and do better in a learning environment where their intellect is challenged and worked.
  • The adult dog who is new to socialization but shows a big interest in interacting with other dogs.
  • Dogs born with a high drive who require both mental and physical stimulating activities to allow them to relax when they get home.
  • Dogs on the shy side who may prefer human interaction over making new canine friends.
  • Adult dogs that love to have fun but have a shorter tolerance level for larger groups.

Enrichment for Puppies and High-Energy Dogs

Two groups get the most out of enrichment, for opposite reasons.

Puppies up to six months are still deciding what the world is like. Repetition in a room with other dogs is what turns a command they know at home into one they will actually give you when something more interesting is happening. It also teaches them to wait their turn, which is most of what good manners around other dogs comes down to. These are the puppy enrichment classes owners tend to add once daycare itself is going well.

High-energy and highly intelligent dogs are the other group. A dog bred to work will not tire out from running alone, and a bored clever dog invents his own job, usually one you would rather he had not. Mental stimulation for dogs does what another hour of running cannot, which is why high energy dog daycare works better with enrichment built into it.

Shy dogs and adults new to socializing do well here too, because a group of three to five is far easier to read than a full play yard. What we see over a few weeks is a dog who settles faster at the end of the day, recovers quicker from a surprise, and starts offering a sit before being asked.
