Our Mesa and Chandler locations offer supervised group play for social dogs and individualized private care for dogs who prefer their own space. Each dog’s day is built around what keeps them comfortable, engaged, and happy—because great daycare should work for the dog in front of us.

Daycare Requirements

Pre-screening evaluations are required for all dogs coming for dog daycare. We make sure all dogs are non-aggressive and suitable for dog-dog group play.

Our pre-screening evaluations are done on your first day of daycare and usually take 3-4 hours. Normal daycare rates apply.

All dogs must be current on rabies and distemper and these vaccinations must be administered and documented by a licensed veterinarian. Dogs must be neutered/spayed by 2 years old. All dogs must also be free of flea, tick and other parasites such as ear mites.

What a Day of Daycare Looks Like

Convenient Weekday Drop-Off

Our weekday dog daycare hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Once your dog has passed our prescreening evaluation, you do not need to make a reservation for regular daycare. You may drop your dog off whenever it is convenient for you.

Full-day daycare is $38 and can include up to 12½ hours of care when a dog arrives at 6:00 a.m. and is picked up by our 6:30 p.m. closing time. Half-day daycare is $33 and includes up to five hours from the time of drop-off. All half-day dogs must be picked up no later than 3:00 p.m., so dogs should arrive by 10:00 a.m. to receive the full five hours.

The 3:00 p.m. half-day pickup deadline helps us avoid a large rush when full-day parents begin arriving after work. It also protects the natural rhythm of our playgroups. Dogs that have been playing since morning are often beginning to slow down by early afternoon, so we do not want a high-energy dog arriving at 1:00 p.m. ready to start the day.

Daycare Packages Make All-Day Play More Affordable

Daycare packages are available for families whose dogs visit regularly. Packages are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Our 10-day package reduces the full-day daycare price to just $33 per day—the same price as a single half-day visit. Your dog can enjoy a full day of play, and you do not have to rush back for the 3:00 p.m. half-day pickup deadline. It is a convenient and valuable option for busy parents and dogs that benefit from regular exercise and socialization.

Real Outdoor Play Yards

One of the things that sets Happy Pets Palace apart is that our dogs play and take potty breaks in real outdoor yards. This is especially important for puppies that are developing good house-training habits and for adult dogs that have learned they should go potty outside.

At some indoor-only daycare facilities, dogs may be expected to relieve themselves indoors, which can be confusing for puppies and uncomfortable for well-trained adult dogs. Our outdoor yards give dogs plenty of opportunities throughout the day to maintain the same healthy potty habits they follow at home.

Supervised Morning Group Play

The energy level is usually highest in the morning. Dogs arrive excited to see their friends and ready to run, explore, and play. Our supervised dog daycare group play is organized according to size and play style, helping us create appropriate and enjoyable groups.

Our team provides active supervision, affection, and positive interaction throughout the day. Many dogs enjoy being near their human caregivers just as much as they enjoy playing with their canine friends. Parents can watch the fun on our live-stream webcams from anywhere they have internet access.

Activities, Enrichment and Learning

A typical dog daycare schedule includes a variety of activities rather than expecting dogs to entertain themselves all day. Depending on the weather, playgroup, and energy level, dogs may enjoy Fetch, toys, bubbles, water play, agility equipment, playground structures, Follow the Leader, and other supervised games.

We also practice simple skills and good manners, including name recall, group sits, waiting at the gate, and following directions. During water play, many dogs love splashing in the pools, chasing the hose water, and jumping up to catch the spray.

Lunchtime, Rest and Nap Options

Dogs that do not bring a meal generally remain with their playgroup throughout the day. Raised Kuranda beds are available in the yards for dogs that want to relax or nap while remaining near their friends.

Parents may pack a meal or request a scheduled nap. Dogs that eat lunch receive approximately 90 minutes away from group play to eat, digest, and rest before returning to activity. This rest period is an important precaution after eating and can also give a busy or easily overstimulated dog a helpful break. Parents may request a nap even when their dog does not need lunch.

A Natural Afternoon Rhythm

By approximately 11:00 a.m., the excitement of the morning usually begins to settle and the playgroups become calmer. Energy often picks up again later in the afternoon after dogs have rested.

Activities continue throughout the day, with quieter experiences such as Story Hour often offered later in the afternoon as the dogs begin winding down. Fresh drinking water is always available, and our team empties, cleans, and refreshes the water bowls every hour.

Our Spay and Neuter Policy

Dogs may participate in daycare without being spayed or neutered until they reach two years of age, provided their behavior remains appropriate for group play. Female dogs may not attend while they are in heat, and male dogs displaying excessive mounting behavior may need to be removed from the playgroup.

Every dog’s safety and comfort come first. Our team continuously supervises interactions and may adjust a dog’s participation if hormonal or other behaviors begin affecting the group.

Flexible Afternoon Pickup

Full-day dogs may be picked up whenever it is convenient for their families, as long as parents arrive before we close at 6:30 p.m. After a full day of supervised play, outdoor activity, enrichment, companionship, and affection, most dogs are ready to enjoy a relaxing evening at home. dog daycare group play, dog daycare Mesa hours.

Daycare Dogs are Grouped by Size and Play Temperaments

We have 3 separate indoor/outdoor playgrounds to ensure an appropriate fit for your dog’s size, energy, and comfort.

How We Group Dogs for Safe Play

The right playmates make all the difference! Size is an important part of forming our playgroups, but it isn’t the only factor we consider. Our PackPro-trained staff also look at each dog’s temperament, energy level, confidence, age, and play style to create comfortable, well-balanced groups. Every group is actively supervised throughout the day.

Our smallest guests have a space all their own! The Royal Palace is exclusively for teacup breeds, typically weighing up to 20 pounds. For dogs who prefer people over playgroups, we also offer private care with personalized attention. This flexible approach allows us to provide safe, enjoyable daycare for dogs with a wide variety of personalities and needs.

Our Facility

Our inside facility cover 5,000 sq. ft. of temperature controlled environment with ceiling fans for air movement and soothing music for enjoyment.

The outside playgrounds are 2500-sq ft using artificial turf and small crushed granite where the dogs usually potty.

Our facility is cleaned using cleaning solutions that are pet-friendly and environmentally friendly. The cleaning solutions break down bacteria and keep our facility, the turf, and all the doggy playground equipment clean, sanitized, and smelling fresh.

Activities Schedule

We offer doggy daycare, dog-dog group play, Monday – Friday from 6:00AM until 6:30PM. Reservations for daycare are not needed.

Daycare dogs are in group play ALL DAY from when you drop off until when you pick up. Daycare dogs are not put in a private villa unless you bring a lunch or request a nap and then they will be up for 90-minutes which is normal in our industry to prevent bloat.

During daycare, dogs play together under our close supervision. They get love and attention from our trained staff. We play bubbles with them, snuggle, read stories, and play follow the leader because it’s fun!

Basic commands are taught, such as sit, stay, shake, speak, roll over and name recognition. We help puppies learn how to self-regulate.

During warmer weather, we fill up the above ground swimming pools and play with the water hose. All the dogs are monitored so everyone has a good time enjoying playtime in a safe environment.

We have 3 indoor/outdoor play areas. We divide dogs by size and play styles, maturity levels, and confidence levels.

Bring your Dogs to Socialize, Play and Make New Friends!

We offer convenient drop-off supervised group play in a temperature controlled inside environment with connected outside playgrounds for dogs to go potty outside. We provide live webcams so you can check in and see what your dogs are doing. You can rest easy knowing they are well cared for and enjoying their time at Happy Pets Palace.

A Note on Dog Breeds and Temperaments

We understand and respect the AKC guidelines of dog breed characteristics. If AKC.org shows your dog’s breed as “confident, strong-willed, dominant, not dog friendly, etc.” then it is good to respect the breed’s characteristics and most likely those breeds will not be a good fit in dog-dog group play.

However, that is not always the case. Therefore, we give all breeds an opportunity to prescreen.

Giant-sized dogs and physically strong dogs MUST listen to and respond appropriately to basic commands in group play or they will be expelled if causing problems for the staff or other dogs.

We are one of the few facilities who take bully breeds, and they must be on their best behavior in order to remain in our group play setting.

If your dog is high-energy, bring them earlier in the day (no later than 9AM) when the other dogs in group still have high energy. Dropping off a high-energy dog after 9AM is not recommended because the other dogs have already been playing 2-3 hours and are getting tired.

Puppy Daycare & Socializing

Puppy socializing is perfect for puppies from 4-months old up to one year old. We accept puppies as young as 10-weeks but most likely they will need to be 12-weeks old in order to meet health requirements. If your puppy eats lunch, be sure to pack their lunch for them to enjoy at lunchtime.

Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccinations (from a licensed veterinarian) at least 7-days prior to the first day (pre-screening day) at Happy Pets Palace. Puppies under the age of 6 months must provide proof of a clear fecal before interviewing at our facility.

All dogs need to be kept up-to-date on their vaccinations throughout socializing, daycare, and overnight boarding.

Rabies vaccine is due by 4-months of age unless you live in Maricopa County. Maricopa County requires all dogs have their rabies vaccine and be licensed at 3-months of age.

All dogs must be neutered/spayed by 2 years old. We require all dogs be appropriate and suitable for co-ed group play and not show any signs of aggression. Female dogs cannot be in season.

All puppies must pre-screen before being allowed to play on Puppy Wednesday.

We need to make sure all dogs are a good fit for our group play environment. Call 480-207-1852 to schedule your dog’s meet and greet pre-screening appointment or visit our Puppy Socializing section to learn more and for great daycare programs just for puppies.

Choosing a Doggy Daycare in the East Valley

When choosing a doggy daycare, look beyond the size of the play yards. The best daycare is one with trained staff, thoughtful playgroup placement, active supervision, clean facilities, and care options that fit your individual dog.

At Happy Pets Palace & Playground, our trained team considers each dog’s size, temperament, energy level, and play style. We offer supervised group play, an exclusive teacup area, and personalized private care for dogs who prefer their own space. Our staff is also certified in Pet First Aid and Pet CPR.

Unlike indoor-only facilities, where dogs are expected to relieve themselves indoors, Happy Pets Palace provides frequent access to real outdoor yards. Indoor potty areas can be confusing for puppies still developing good house-training habits, while well-trained adult dogs may try to hold their urine because they have learned not to potty inside. Our dogs receive plenty of outdoor potty opportunities throughout the day—and again at approximately 10:00 PM—helping them maintain the healthy habits they follow at home.

We also offer live webcams so families can watch their dogs from anywhere with internet access. For even greater peace of mind, boarding families may upgrade to a Camera View Villa for an additional $10 per night. This provides 24/7 viewing access, allowing you to see your dog during group play and while they relax in their private villa for meals, rest, and overnight sleeping.

With locations in Mesa and Chandler, we’re a convenient choice for families searching for the best dog daycare in the East Valley, including those looking for dog daycare near Gilbert, AZ, or Tempe, AZ.

Most pups are under 20-lbs although there may occasionally be a timid/shy toy dog who exceeds this weight by a few pounds.
